Dry Bones

We just got back from the Cornerstone Church retreat this past weekend (more on that later this week)! The theme for this year’s retreat was “Moving Forward”, and the guest speaker Pastor Sam Park touched upon Ezekiel 37 (The Valley of Dry Bones). So I couldn’t help but think about Passion 2013 where Chris Tomlin (and the symphony orchestra) played “Awake My Soul” to a video of the passage, and then Lecrae comes out and paraphrases. It was a powerful representation of Ezekiel’s vision for sure.

Then the Sunday we got back to church, our pastor preached on Ezekiel 37 as well! Needless to say, dry bones have been on my mind lately…

Can you imagine? A valley of dry bones. What could have caused it? Who knows… But what we do know is what happens next: the bones were restored to life because of God. Likewise, the power and grace of our mighty God is awesome enough not just to send His one and only son Jesus to us, but to send Him to die for us… and to live again!

Dry bones? Because of Jesus, we will never thirst again – the water He gives us will become a spring of water welling up to eternal life (John 4:13-14). Because of Jesus, we have new life to the fullest (John 10:10). Because of Jesus, we can boast in the power of God that can even breathe life back into dry bones – a power that nothing on earth can compare to!

Galatians 6:14 says, “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” We have an amazing God who has delivered us from sin and wants us to move forward together. Let’s boast in Him, be confident and shameless with these blessed lives we have!

Maybe you just graduated high school or college, or maybe you’re facing troubles or transitions in life… Maybe you’re feeling like a pile of dry bones. But be encouraged! Move forward knowing that the God of the universe opened our graves so that we too can live again like the dry bones in Ezekiel 37 and that His Spirit is with us: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Pilgrim Wave Revival

This past Friday & Saturday was Pilgrim Church’s Wave Revival with guest speaker Pastor Tom Kang from Liquid Church.

A lot of re-commitments were made as God’s children replaced their rock bottom situations with the hope found in Jesus Christ. “You may be down, but you’re not out!”, said Pastor Tom. It was then when it was realized that instead of this, that, and the other thing, what we need is found in Jesus! Even when we fail, fall, and make mistakes, we will find all we need & want in Him. Let God use you for His will!

“If you’re not dead, then God isn’t done with you!”

Here’s our heart, Lord… Speak what is true!

Death Couldn’t Hold Him Down

Jesus is risen, He is risen indeed!

We hope you have a Happy Easter!

We just got back from the Praise Church youth retreat which was really great, and their theme was “Live The Story”. I think this is a perfect theme in this Easter season. Today we celebrate the resurrection of our risen Savior… death couldn’t hold Him down! The story of our song “He Has Overcome” tells the story of our salvation.

Let’s believe and live out the story of Jesus Christ! Thank you, Lord!

“We glorify King Jesus Christ who died for all our sin. He came to save, conquered the grave, now we’re alive in Him!” – He Has Overcome

He Bore Our Sins

Here are some verses that can help us focus on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross today:

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23-24)

He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. (Mark 8:31)

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

It is a Good Friday.

New Life

We just got back from leading worship at the SDYG (Sandol) Winter Retreat! It was a great time of honoring the Lord and lifting up His name. The theme of the retreat was “New Life”, which is funny because yesterday at church I preached about a similar idea. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Through Jesus Christ’s resurrection, our sins are forgiven. The only catch is that we’d have to take off our “grave clothes”. The new has come! Paul boldly says in Romans: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…” and I believe that this is what we ought to do with these “new lives”.

Which leads us back to Shameless Plug: this idea of being renewed and unashamed in Christ, having a new life to live for God, and shamelessly exemplifying Jesus… it’s a bold statement! So especially in this season of Lent, let’s not get so bent on what we’re “giving up” but let’s remember the cross when we give it up as we strive to do everything for God – because Jesus gave up everything for us.

Song Blogs

One of the things we’re really looking forward to sharing on this site is our music. Some are newer, some are older, but all of them are songs that we’ve used on this journey to worship our awesome God! We hope to share a little bit about each song as a blog post here on our site. Now that we’re in the final stretch of finishing the album, we’re really excited and hope you are too!

A New Year

As I was stuck trying to sleep last night, I was reminded of the night when the idea behind Shameless Plug dawned upon me. It was quite a busy first leg of our journey… Now, looking forward with an album releasing next month and this brand new website, who really knows what’s in store for us next? But whatever we do, it’s going to be placed in God’s hands.

We’ll be periodically posting updates here. And if we’re new to you, then hello! Read a little bit about who we are in the About page. You’ll be able to see some additional info in our other sections as well. We’re glad you’re here and can’t wait to share what’s going on in the coming weeks!
