Please Vote For “Christ Is”!

Our song “Christ Is” from our debut album was recently accepted as one of the 30 songs to be considered for the All About Worship Collective 9!  All About Worship is a great online resource to equip, encourage, and inspire worship leaders, worship teams, and Christian songwriters. One way they do this is with their free AAW Collective compilation album which, in the past, has featured artists such as Paul Baloche, Israel Houghton, The City Harmonic, All Sons & Daughters, Daniel Bashta, Aaron Shust, and our good friend Mike Kim.

Voting started today and you just need a SoundCloud, Facebook, or Google account to vote for “Christ Is”! Voting closes February 13th where the top 10 voted songs will be narrowed down to 2-5 by the AAW Listening Panel. All proceeds from the album will go to a nonprofit ministry (TBA). How awesome!

Please click on the image below to be linked to the voting page. Scroll down to find the track All About Worship – Christ Is – Shameless Plug, and as you play the track you’ll see the like button appear in the player. Thank you for your support and we hope to have good news when voting closes!

Church Anniversary

It seems like October was the month of church anniversaries this year. All over Facebook this month we saw churches in our area celebrating another year of ministry. We were honored to be a part of our home church’s 41st Anniversary Revival at KCCNJ with guest speaker Pastor Sam Choi.

It’s amazing to look back at the 41 year history of KCC and realize how faithful God has been through the thick and thin. What’s even more amazing is the ability to look forward, trusting in Him to continue providing for the church. We enjoyed celebrating with them this past weekend with songs of praise & thanksgiving. Here are some of those songs:

My Life Is Not My Own

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

This was the theme of our praise night this past Friday as we wrapped up School Of Worship and yet another summer. What we do with our lives ought to be worship to God with every moment we have otherwise it ends up being empty, meaningless, and inauthentic worship. Our night of worship was more than just singing – it was filled with praise, prayers, scripture, and celebration from the people of God!

The Word I shared in the middle of the night was to offer perspective on the fact that our lives are not our own, but they belong to God since we were bought at a price. Our lives should be lived to testify the good news of His grace because of Jesus Christ (Acts 20:24), which includes when we worship on Sundays, Fridays, and every other moment in between as we live these lives for Him.

It was a powerful night of praise for all of God’s children. It was a great privilege to lead with our band one more time before the new school year starts. These days there are so many things saying that it’s okay to do whatever you want with your life, with your bodies, with your actions… but I hope whether or not you were with us at the praise night, you can look forward to this new school year with intentions of bringing glory, honor, and praise to God in all that you do & all that you are! Our lives are not our own!

Praise Night Tonight!

We’re wrapping up our 4 week School Of Worship today at KCCNJ and thought it would be appropriate to end the 4 week program with a night of worship. It’s also a great opportunity to bless the Lord, thank Him, and praise Him for this summer. For some of us that means going back to school, going to college for the first time, or the same old “continue going to work” routine! Whatever the case, come one and come all! It’ll be a night of celebration for all that God’s done, is doing, and will do. So we hope you can join us in making our praises loud tonight, 8pm!

On a side note, we’re not going to bring too much merch or advertise it later, but if you’ve been looking to grab some of the stuff in our Store but don’t want to pay for shipping, you can get ’em tonight. Just let us know on our Facebook wall so that we can make sure to bring what you’re looking for – come see us after the praise night if that’s you!

There’s Still Time Left!

What could we possibly mean by that?

Today we’re looking forward to Week 2 of School Of Worship (SOW) at KCC, where students come to learn to play instruments for the purpose of worshiping God. We’re sowing seeds into the new worship leaders of today & tomorrow! Tonight’s guest speaker is Pastor Josiah Chung who started the very first SOW with us several years ago – he’s a long time friend, and we’re looking forward to hearing the Word he brings tonight.

SOW is a 4 week program and, though it seems short, we’ve already seen some great progress! With only 3 more weeks left, I know there are some who will be coming for the first time today… please pray for our School Of Worship in the coming weeks so that God will be glorified in our learning together.

And lastly, there is only 1 week left in our birthday sale! Head to our store to grab our album & new t-shirt at a low price. Only 30 black and 29 navy shirts left! Sale ends August 17.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Cornerstone Church Retreat

Last weekend we had the privilege of joining Cornerstone Church on their family retreat (check out Dry Bones), leading praise for the adult congregation. We hadn’t seen many of them for almost 2 years so it was great to reconnect with them again!

It was actually so familiar that I almost forgot to introduce ourselves to them! (Just in case, although many probably knew us for the most part!)

Cornerstone has always been a blessing to us – a special close relationship that’s hard to match. They’ve always supported and encouraged us and this retreat was no different: I did an inventory check earlier this week to organize our merchandise and to my surprise, they nearly wiped us clean of our t-shirts! We only have 2 t-shirts left (both size S)! So if you’ve been waiting for the right time to buy that t-shirt in small, now’s your chance…

Pretty soon we’ll have a new t-shirt design ready, so we hope you’re excited about that!

Meanwhile, if you’re in the Hasbrouck Heights area and are looking for a church, why don’t you check out Cornerstone Church?

Until next time, Cornerstone (hopefully sooner than later)!

Dry Bones

We just got back from the Cornerstone Church retreat this past weekend (more on that later this week)! The theme for this year’s retreat was “Moving Forward”, and the guest speaker Pastor Sam Park touched upon Ezekiel 37 (The Valley of Dry Bones). So I couldn’t help but think about Passion 2013 where Chris Tomlin (and the symphony orchestra) played “Awake My Soul” to a video of the passage, and then Lecrae comes out and paraphrases. It was a powerful representation of Ezekiel’s vision for sure.

Then the Sunday we got back to church, our pastor preached on Ezekiel 37 as well! Needless to say, dry bones have been on my mind lately…

Can you imagine? A valley of dry bones. What could have caused it? Who knows… But what we do know is what happens next: the bones were restored to life because of God. Likewise, the power and grace of our mighty God is awesome enough not just to send His one and only son Jesus to us, but to send Him to die for us… and to live again!

Dry bones? Because of Jesus, we will never thirst again – the water He gives us will become a spring of water welling up to eternal life (John 4:13-14). Because of Jesus, we have new life to the fullest (John 10:10). Because of Jesus, we can boast in the power of God that can even breathe life back into dry bones – a power that nothing on earth can compare to!

Galatians 6:14 says, “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” We have an amazing God who has delivered us from sin and wants us to move forward together. Let’s boast in Him, be confident and shameless with these blessed lives we have!

Maybe you just graduated high school or college, or maybe you’re facing troubles or transitions in life… Maybe you’re feeling like a pile of dry bones. But be encouraged! Move forward knowing that the God of the universe opened our graves so that we too can live again like the dry bones in Ezekiel 37 and that His Spirit is with us: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Another Giveaway Reminder

Last month we had an idea to have another giveaway for Unending Praise (take a look here if you haven’t seen it already). This is because many of you had a lot of fun with our first giveaway for some Unending Praise downloads.

Remember, the next giveaway gets unlocked once we hit 200 likes on our Facebook page! Since we first announced it in April, we’ve had quite a few more likes. So thank you for helping spread the word about Shameless Plug! Keep doing what you’re doing as you’re sharing the link on Facebook, Twitter, to your friends, family, everywhere!

The sooner we hit 200, the sooner we can get the next giveaway started!
